IQRA College is an organisation run by the Board of Directors. The School Board select and delegate the management of the College to the Principal, the IQRA Leadership Team and their staff. With the support of the Board and the Principal, the Vision and Mission is set to then inform the strategic direction which is monitored and reviewed by the board to ensure objectives are addressed and key compliance requirements are met.
Khaled was appointed to the Board upon the school's inception in 2012, serving in roles as board treasurer and board secretary, and was appointed as Chairperson in October 2019. Khaled has a background in community volunteer work with multiple organizations, and a career background in government and private sectors, with organizations such as the Australian Red Cross.
Khaled has studied at Tertiary level a Bachelor of Arts and Laws and is currently working towards obtaining his Master of Leadership in Education. Khaled also serves on the board of Adelaide Thunder Football Club.
Owais Malick has more than 25 years of professional experience as project professional, consultant and trainer. He has extensive experience in project planning both in Australia and in Pakistan. Presently working as Project Planner at Mayfield Industries, Australia. In addition to that he has been teaching at Torrens University, Australia since 2013, in their Master of Global Project Management Program.
Owais did his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Pakistan in 1993 and worked as a Mechanical Engineer for around 8 years. After finishing his MBA from one of the renowned institutions of Pakistan, Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, he switched over his career from engineering to management training and consulting. Over a period of 25 years, Owais has trained thousands of professionals in Project Management. He has been regularly engaged in volunteering activities in the community.
"As a board member, my vision is to contribute to the development of IQRA College by sharing my knowledge and skills in improving project management practices at IQRA to ensure that all the projects initiated at IQRA, add value to school and provide local community a world class educational infrastructure."
Maria Aydin was born in Australia, and lives in Adelaide. As a Board member of IQRA College, she has over 35 years of work experience over a variety of industries, employment services, private recruitment, marketing and PR. She also holds over 15 years of management experience and is currently working as a Regional Employment Manager in Employment Services. The last 18 years, she was working in Employment Services industry with government contracts adhering to compliance and government performance areas.
Her best skill set is guiding and mentoring teams to be high performing along with abiding to compliance expectations. She has worked alongside Government departments to develop and implement pilot projects to assist intergenerational unemployment families and vulnerable people achieve positive outcomes.
Maria loves volunteering and helping the community as much as she can for those that are in need and tries to be a positive and independent role model to help shape the best future generation which is our youth.
Fatima joined the IQRA College Board in 2019. Fatima received her Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Jordan back in 2010. She is currently a researcher in the field of Biomedical Engineering with a passion for STEM, Science, and excellence in education. From her years of research at university, she brings along critical thinking and enthusiasm for evidence-based practices in the educational setting.
Over the past 8 years, she has been involved in establishing several community-based Islamic educational programs that serve several age groups from early childhood to youth.
With her involvement in the board, Fatima hopes to contribute to the establishment of a school program that nurtures an exceptional Islamic identity through the integration of Islamic values and high-level STEM education.
Asmaa is a registered Lawyer and holds a bachelor’s degree in Laws and Legal Practice from Flinders University. Her formative years were enriched by the diverse culture and education she experienced during her IGCSE studies in Malaysia and SACE studies in Adelaide, which have played a pivotal role in shaping her global perspective.
Asmaa is deeply passionate about working for the community and is very engaged in dawah work, reflecting her commitment to community enrichment. This dedication to service has been a constant throughout her life, leading to a wealth of experience in community engagement.
In her role as a Director of the School Board, Asmaa leverages her legal expertise and profound community involvement to foster an environment of integrity and excellence. She is dedicated to ensuring that our school not only upholds the highest standards of legal and ethical conduct but also serves as a beacon of community spirit and collaborative success.
Nur Jannah Kuning has extensive years of experience working with children, educators, and parents. She has previously served as a school principal, teacher, trainer, and curriculum developer. Her work brought her to a few countries including Italy, Perth, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia.
An avid learner, she is currently studying a master's degree in Islamic Studies. She graduated from the University of South Australia with a Master of Teaching. She also received a Diploma in Leadership from Wheelock College, USA and Certificate in Management and Administration.
She had been selected as valedictorian and won a book prize for outstanding performance (Wheelock College, USA), Exemplary Teacher Award (Darul Ghufran Mosque, Singapore) and co-written an integrated Islamic workbook series.
Dr Hani Abul Khair brings to IQRA College 15 years of high school teaching and school management experience including 12 years research background in Science and Geology. His extensive background as a PhD holder in Geology, along with his leadership and the knowledge and experience in the Islamic Studies, Religion and Worldview, is an integral aspect of assisting our IQRA students to be better abiding citizens in the community and society. His leadership skills are apparent from establishing and managing several community-based not for profit organizations.
Dr Hani moved to Australia in January 2009. Prior to joining IQRA College, he worked at the University of Adelaide, Australian School of Petroleum, as a lecturer and researcher until 2015. He then moved to Malaysia to join Petronas (Malaysia’s National Oil and Gas Company) for 4 years before returning to Australia. His early years in IQRA College was as a religion teacher while studying for a Master of Teaching. Today, Hani is the School Principal, leading and managing the IQRA community with full enthusiasm, trust and commitment.

Hasan Yunich has had over 20 years' experience in the construction and manufacturing industries with various roles from automation technician, site supervisor and leading hand, engineering, and management roles. He has also spent much time starting and operating many different businesses.
He has completed a Bachelor of Social Sciences and Master of Applied Project Management (Project Systems) from the University of Adelaide and coupled with many years in community work he is a valuable asset to the IQRA College.
Shahiq Sarkar is one of the first few staff who joined IQRA College. He is currently serving the role of the Finance Manager. Outside of work, he is an active member of the community and volunteers his time and expertise in different community-based projects.
Shahiq graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Adelaide and is a member of the Chartered Accountants ANZ.
